About the opportunity

Canine Partners are looking for caring family homes within a reasonable distance of our National Training Centre, to offer a loving long-term family home to one of our Broods (Canine Partner mum’s), including supporting her throughout pregnancy and raising up to a maximum of four litters of puppies (one litter per year before being retired). Ideally you will live within one hour’s drive of LE12 9SR post code area.

What is involved

This is considered a full-time volunteer role. The brood will live with you from approximately 14-18 months of age until retirement.
 With guidance support and advice from our breeding team maintain
the broods health and welfare, including maintaining a good weight and fitness level along with basic training and general obedience.
 Be available for and attend training sessions within the working week that will involve:
o home visits
o virtual online training
o one-to-ones
 Be available to take the brood for essential veterinary visits as required.
 The brood will have approximately two seasons per year and will stay at home during her season. Advice on management or any veterinary visits required during the season, will be given by our breeding team.
 The brood will have one litter per year from the age of two, up to a maximum of four litters. Each litter will be born within the home and the puppies will remain with the brood until they are approximately eight weeks old and ready to go to their puppy parents (plenty of opportunities for puppy cuddles). Full support, guidance and training will be provided by our breeding team throughout the broods’ mating season, pregnancy, whelping and litter. Equipment for the litter is provided.
 Whilst the brood has a litter – we ask that pet dogs have restricted exercise (full information and guidance is given by the breeding team). This measure is to minimise the risk of infection to the litter.
 The dog breeding volunteer will have updates throughout each litters training.

What we require from you

 The primary dog breeding volunteer must be 18 years or over
 Have a dog friendly secure garden
 Be at home for most of the day and ideally live within one hour of LE12 9SR
 Though desirable, prior dog ownership is not required
 If you are a dog owner, you cannot have an entire male dog. Maximum of three pet dogs which will be assessed on a case-by-case basis considering the size of pet dogs, along with available space within in the property. Any pet dogs will be assessed as part of the home assessment.
 Time and stamina to provide the brood with a minimum of one hours exercise per day (this can be completed in one or multiple walks).
 Time to provide training sessions to maintain basic obedience.
 Access to own transport to travel the brood on essential journeys such as veterinary appointments and pre-mating tests as required.
 Have time and stamina to devote to the brood and her litter. The brood cannot be routinely left for more than four hours in a day.
 Have space within the home for the brood and her litter.

Support and Training

 Induction process which includes submitting of application, telephone

interview, home visit, training and handling sessions.
 Each volunteer is allocated a member of the Canine Partners breeding team as their first point of contact.
 Receive regular training, resources and other important information via your trainer; this may be in the format of physical copies, digital or in person.
 All equipment for the litter is provided.
 Our breeding team will offer continued support throughout the pregnancy and litter.
 Payment of expenditure such as mileage to and from a pre-mating test

Puppy Dog Trainers

Canine Partners are looking for caring family homes in Derby to raise, socialise and train puppies and young dogs up to the age of 18 months old.

Ideally with-in 45 minutes’ drive of DE21 2RQ post code area. We are looking for volunteers who can provide loving homes for our young dogs, aged 14 months upwards. Commitment to providing a loving home, care, and training for a dog for the duration of their time in training. ALSO puppy parents are needed, we are looking for caring family homes in Derby to raise, socialise and train puppies and young dogs up to the age of 18 months old. Ideally with-in 45 minutes ‘drive of DE21 2RQ post code area.

Fulfillment Volunteer

wishesjust4you is a Community Interest Company dedicated to helping children with life-limiting illnesses fulfil their heartfelt wishes.

We are seeking compassionate and organised volunteers to support our wish fulfilment process. This role involves working from home, handling email and phone communications, and helping to coordinate wishes for children across the UK.

Commitment: Flexible – part-time or full-time options available.-working from home

Requirements: A genuine passion for helping children, good communication skills, and access to email/phone.

Charlie’s Place Animal Sanctuary Volunteer

Charlie’s place, an Animal Sanctuary in Pilsley, near Chesterfield, are looking for animal lovers, happy to volunteer an hour or so in a morning or evening on occasion, to help care for a wide range of animals. The sanctuary houses hens, ducks, pigs, sheep, lambs, donkeys, and various birds, with hedgehogs and pigeons often receiving specialist care in the sanctuary hospital. If you love animals, are 16+, and you’re interested in caring for a wide range of them – please get in touch. Housekeeping Volunteer

Are you handy with a hoover, a whizz with a duster and a dab hand with a mop? We are looking for a Housekeeping Volunteers to help keep our shops clean, safe and welcoming for our volunteers, staff and customers.

Full training and cleaning materials will be provided. This volunteer role is very flexible, and whether you have an hour or an afternoon free each week, your help will make a huge difference to the shop.

Typical tasks include:

Cleaning staff areas, stairways and restrooms – vacuuming and wiping down surfaces

· Cleaning on the shop floor – shop fittings, stock on display and touch points

· Re-stocking cleaning supplies, refreshments and any other miscellaneous items – make sure we have enough tea and biscuits to keep our volunteers going!

Visual Merchandising Volunteer

Do you love those head-turning displays in high street windows? Could you use your creativity to create eye-catching displays either in the shop front or sales floor of Your Local Air Ambulance shop? You can get involved in selecting and displaying the amazing stock donated to us to great effect to really grab customers’ attention. We will provide you with all the support and training you need to get started. Make our shop stand out so we can continue to fund lifesaving missions.

Typical tasks include:

· Creating attractive in-store displays

· Making sure all price points, sale and campaign notices are clearly visible

· Using your creativity and experimenting within organisational guidelines

Homewares Department Volunteer

Interested in collectibles, homewares and bric-a-brac? If this sounds like you then this could be your perfect volunteering role. Get involved in creating exciting and eye-catching displays of collectibles and homewares in our store. You’ll also be involved in selecting and preparing donated homewares to get them ready for sale. This is an opportunity to share your skills or to get a taster of a career in retail while helping us keep our Air Missions flying.

Typical tasks include:

Following our display guidelines and using your creative skills to maintain attractive displays of homewares in our charity store

· Keeping our homewares department fully stocked with fresh items

· Sorting out and cleaning donated ornaments, collectibles and pictures

· Following our guidelines to value and price donated ornaments, collectibles and pictures

Music and Entertainment Department Volunteer

Love music, films or gaming? We’re looking for knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteers to help sort, price and display our wide range of donated CDs, DVDs and games in our shop. This is an opportunity to share your love of music or film or to get a taster of a career in retail while helping us to keep flying our lifesaving missions.

Typical tasks include:

· Keeping our music and entertainment department fully stocked and organised on the sales floor and behind the scenes in our stock room

· Sorting out donations of CDs, DVDs and games, checking discs for scratches and recycling those that are damaged

· Sharing your love of music and film with customers whilst on the sales floor

· Following our guidelines to value and price donated CDs, DVDs and games

Book Department Volunteer

Love books? We’re looking for enthusiastic people to help price, organise and display our wide range of donated books in our charity shop. Create exciting and eye-catching displays and inspire others to pick up a book. This is a flexible opportunity to share your love of books or to get a taster of a career in retail and you’ll be helping the charity to continue to fund our lifesaving missions.

Typical tasks include:

· Keeping our book department fully stocked with a fresh selection of donated books

· Sorting out donations of books

· Following our guidelines to value and price donated books

· Identifying rare and collectible books for online selling

· Some lifting and carrying of books involved – remember books can be heavy!

Shopfloor Volunteer

Our Sales Floor Volunteers are the first point of contact for customers when they enter our charity shop. You will be greeting customers, helping them find the items they’re looking for and answering their questions, with help on hand from the shop team. You will provide invaluable help in the running of the shop, keeping it stocked and attractively displayed.

Typical tasks include:

· Helping customers on the shop floor & providing good all-round customer service

· Promoting our campaigns and any instore sales to customers

· Working on window and shop displays to make them look their best

· Keeping the shop tidy, clean and well organised – some light housekeeping

· Helping your fellow volunteers and staff with customer queries
