This is a unique opportunity to use your skills and learn new ones to have a massive impact on the successful future of Barrow Hill Communities. The current Trustee Board has recently dwindled and is looking for four new Trustees with the following skillsets.

Planning Expert: A Trustee who is knowledgeable about planning systems and is passionate about good design and planning enabling positive communities.  Would suit anyone who is keen to work on the planning, community facilities co-design, community land control or community-led housing aspects of our work including business planning, landscape design & regulatory approval.

Community development specialist: A Trustee who is dedicated to community engagement and involvement, community organising, empowering community co-design and enabling grassroots leadership programmes.

Financial management trustee / treasurer: Would suit book-keeper, accountant, local business person or anyone familiar with online accounts systems, charity accounting & cash flow forecasting.

Business planner / fundraiser: A trustee who can provide expert opinion on our business plan and funding strategy as we aim to refurbish a large community owned building (cost ~£2.5m) as well as develop a community led housing estate.

All Trustees will have to abide by the Charity Commission regulations and will be provided with full training and support for their roles.

Trustees have independent control over, and legal responsibility for, a charity’s management and administration. They play a very important role, with duties and responsibilities which must be taken seriously.
