Community Group volunteer

Part Time
Our group activities and all our volunteers are covered by the church’s public liability insurance as it is a joint enterprise between the church and the community. The Church of England also provides the safeguarding training. The role is open to those who are sympathetic to the Christian faith but they do not have to be a person of faith themselves, our other volunteers are not Christian.
Glow! Youth Club runs from Holmesfield Church Hall, Main Road, Holmesfield S18 7WT and  is a very friendly community-run drop-in club on Monday evenings during term time from 7-8.30pm. We will cover reasonable travel expenses. Public transport is not good in this semi-rural area just outside Dronfield so it is likely that you will need to be able to drive and have a car. We can securely store a bicycle.

We are looking for volunteers aged 19+ with a genuine interest in young people, who are non-judgemental and have a positive outlook to work with our local young folk aged 11-18, playing pool, table tennis, or other games, crafts (materials provided) or running the tuck shop. You will need to be a positive role model. You will need to be willing to provide a reference for your suitability to work with young people and do some online safeguarding training that will take about an hour. We will pay for an enhanced DBS check if you are suitable for the role and do not have one already on the ‘DBS Update’ system. If you have a Monday evening once a month (as a minimum) and are interested in joining our welcoming team please give me a ring or email to arrange a conversation.
You can upload your CV or any relevant file. Max. file size: 100 MB.
