Commitment- Mornings or afternoons
Daily supervisions- Facilities Manager
Description of the role-
- The aim of a meet and greet volunteer is to provide a happy welcome to the patients and people visiting by assisting them with enquiries and escorting patients and signposting.
Responsibilities-
- To make patients, visitors and the general publice feel welcome.
- Greet patients entering.
- Offer support to patients requiring directions tot departments and wards.
- To reassure anxious service users or visitors.
- Help to provide an efficient service to staff and patients.
As a volunteer you will be expected-
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality.
- Adhere to all guidelines for Infection Protection and Control. Including handwashing and personal protective equipment.
- Treat collegues and patients and relatives with respect.
- Act within the limits of your skills and training provided.
Personal qualities in a volunteer-
- Excellent communication.
- Polite.
- Approachable.
- Professional friendly approach.
Training-
- Hospital orientation and site knowledge training.
- Volunteer Learning programme.
