Volunteer- Meet and greet volunteer

Location- Clay Cross Hospital / Ripley Community Hospital

Commitment- Mornings or afternoons

Daily supervisions- Facilities Manager

Description of the role-

  • The aim of a meet and greet volunteer is to provide a happy welcome to the patients and people visiting by assisting them with enquiries and escorting patients and signposting.

Responsibilities-

  • To make patients, visitors and the general publice feel welcome.
  • Greet patients entering.
  • Offer support to patients requiring directions tot departments and wards.
  • To reassure anxious service users or visitors.
  • Help to provide an efficient service to staff and patients.

As a volunteer you will be expected-

  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality.
  • Adhere to all guidelines for Infection Protection and Control. Including handwashing and personal protective equipment.
  • Treat collegues and patients and relatives with respect.
  • Act within the limits of your skills and training provided.

Personal qualities in a volunteer-

  • Excellent communication.
  • Polite.
  • Approachable.
  • Professional friendly approach.

Training-

  • Hospital orientation and site knowledge training.
  • Volunteer Learning programme.
