Guide Dogs-
What will you be doing in this role-
- Following Guide Dogs Puppy Raising for Excellent Partnership PREP programme to raise and prepare a puppy to become a guide dog.
- Using our guidelines to care for your puppy for example exercise.
- Getting your puppy use to a wide range of environments.
- Teaching your puppy to be alone by gradually building up from a few minutes to a few hours.
- Attending regular puppy classes.
- Metting regularly wit Guide Dogs representatives to discuss your puppies development.
- Completing regular on line questionnaires to help us monitor puppy progress.
What are we looking for? –
- Have time to raise a puppy.
- Be physically able to handle a large breed dog.
- Have your own car or have access to a car.
- Have your own home or written permission to have a dog in the home.
- Have access to a secure area where the puppy could go to the toilet during the day.
- Be able to access online content and training materials.

Training-
This role has a 13 hour training –
- PREP training.
- Ongoing training virtual and face to face as part of the role.
We will cover expenses relating to your volunteering.
