Summer Play volunteers help visitors enjoy what Hardwick Hall has to offer this
summer. Whether welcoming families to the exciting events, leading play activities, or
signposting visitors, you will be right at the heart of the action.
Helping to support the delivery of the ‘Summer of Play’ offer at Hardwick Hall.
• Providing a warm and friendly welcome to all participants, being mindful of
their needs, and sharing what we have to offer e.g. support with buggies,
highlighting points of interest for children.
• Helping with the daily set up or close – down of the event. Checking play
equipment and removing any that is broken.
• Delivering first class face to face service to our visitors throughout the day,
whilst assisting a team in promoting the benefits of the National Trust.
• Being proactive in keeping yourself informed of what’s on offer on the site.
• There might occasionally be some other activities that are of interest to you,
that we could use your help with.
• You are important in making sure things run as smoothly and safely as
possible – this includes getting to know health and safety and evacuation
procedures.
• Adopting a flexible attitude to your volunteering e.g. open to taking on new
challenges within your role and if possible being able to be flexible with the
days you volunteer.
• Completion of mandatory training.
