About WORTH
WORTH is a charity providing long term aftercare to women affected by Domestic Abuse. We offer 1-1 support plus a range of wellbeing groups including art, writing, music and self-defence to help rebuild confidence and self-esteem.
We provide a safe space to share experiences, give and receive support, learn new skills, reduce isolation, build friendships, and to help give women their voice back. It is a space where women can focus on their future, and we can support our clients in their healing post abuse.
To be able to provide this support we rely on a great team of volunteers with a wide skillset and a whole lot of passion to enable our services to work effectively.
Main purpose of the role:
WORTH offers much-needed aftercare to women affected by Domestic Abuse.
Charities and agencies such as Women’s Aid, The Elm Foundation and The Police all play an essential role supporting women during their abuse and immediately after their escape. WORTH was established to offer support post abuse. This is the long-term support women need to journey through their healing.
Our befrienders play a key role in that process. A befriender is someone who walks alongside a woman on her healing journey. Full in-house training will be provided.
